This week is instagram. I feel old because all the young and hip people use instagram. Except for me. But I at least know what it is!
Honestly, I had never thought about using instragram for the library. I did find some interesting ways to use it though:
One is the university of Oregon's instagram- http://instagram.com/uoregonlibraries#
They use it to promote events and pretty much just post cool pictures. There are lots of pictures from different places around campus, pictures inside the library from different angles, pictures of books with different filters on, etc. I imagine they have a good following given the fact that they are a college.
I found another random library using google again, this time it is the Park Library, one of UNC's libraries. They use instagram for the same thing, posting pictures of events and such. -

They also post pictures of events that are pertinent to the college as a whole, such as a picture of a "Beat Duke" pin.
All in all, I think instagram is a great tool to reach young people and makes sense for college libraries, and can make sense depending on your community. Here in Lead, we don't exactly have a tech savvy, young vibrant community, so our Facebook is so far the extent of our social media presence.
